Read this alongside every benefit

  • Energy & building

Energy performance must be assessed per building. No savings are guaranteed.

  • Acoustics & sound insulation

Room acoustics is not sound insulation. No quieter neighbouring rooms are promised.

  • Indoor air & emissions

VOC Label A classifies emissions. It is not proof of air cleaning.

  • Moisture & mould

Mould prevention depends on moisture, ventilation and proper remediation.

  • Surface hygiene

ISO 22196 is a surface laboratory test, not room-air sterilisation.

  • Fire safety & build-up

Fire class A2-s1,d0 applies only to tested build-ups and the matching product documents.

Illustrative hotel bedroom

Guest rooms and corridors

Interior walls and ceilings of bedrooms can be coated while the building stays in operation floor by floor. Surfaces feel calmer to the eye and the coating is part of a wider comfort concept.

How it is usedInspect, clean and dry the substrate, prime if needed, then apply by roller, brush or spray according to the technical data sheet.
Check firstRoom acoustics may benefit as a supplementary effect, but this needs a project-specific acoustic assessment. It is not airborne or impact sound insulation.
Illustrative hotel wellness area

Wellness and bathrooms

ISORYX is never a waterproofing replacement. Direct water contact areas need proper sealing systems. Mould requires remediation of the cause.

How it works

Summer and winter, in one picture

A qualitative view of radiant heat at a wall surface. It illustrates the principle and shows no measured values.

OutsideRoomWall with ISORYX

In summer, solar heat reaches the facade. The coating reflects part of the radiant heat at the surface, which can help the room feel less heated by its own walls.

Schematic only. Actual effect depends on the building. It is not a replacement for conventional insulation and no savings are promised.

Comfort and operations

What it means for guests and for you

Each benefit is shown with its qualification.

Energy

Room energy performance

Surface radiation behaviour can contribute to a more even feeling at wall surfaces.

Important to know

To be checked per building. No guaranteed savings, and no equivalence to insulation.

Sound

Acoustics

Possibly a supplementary benefit for room acoustics, meaning how a room sounds inside.

Important to know

Needs project-specific acoustic assessment. Not airborne or impact sound insulation, so no promise of quieter neighbouring rooms.

Air

Indoor air

ISORYX carries VOC Label A for low emissions, supporting a considerate material choice.

Important to know

An emissions classification, not proof of active air cleaning. No allergy claims.

Surface

Mould and hygiene

Dry surfaces are less welcoming to mould. ISO 22196 laboratory testing relates to surfaces.

Important to know

Prevention depends on moisture and ventilation, and existing mould needs remediation. Not room-air sterilisation.

Safety

Fire behaviour

A2-s1,d0 is documented for tested build-ups.

Important to know

Valid only within tested build-ups and the product documents. Not to be read as the highest class.

Phasing

Operations

Inside is solvent-free and odour-neutral, and can be planned room by room, which suits a hotel that wants to stay open.

Important to know

Timings come from the technical data sheet and project planning, not from this page.

Application

From substrate to finished wall

Method and values always follow the technical data sheet.

  1. Inspect

Assess the substrate and any moisture cause.

  2. Clean

Remove dirt, loose material and residues.

  3. Dry

Let the substrate become suitably dry.

  4. Prime if needed

    Primario, matched to the substrate.

  5. Apply

Roller, brush or spray as the data sheet specifies.

Application at a glance

For ISORYX Inside and Outside, per their technical sheets: substrate clean, dry and firm; defects and causes of mould fixed first; absorbent substrates get Primario, other substrates need specialist primer advice; by roller or brush normally two coats to a minimum dry-film thickness of 0.40 mm; drying about 24 h per coat at 20 °C and 65 % RH, longer when cooler or more humid. Dry Cool has its own documents and is not covered by these values.

Phased renovation

Renovate without closing the house

A sensible sequence reduces disruption. Sequence and duration are set per project.

  1. Assess

Walk the building, review substrates, moisture and ventilation.

  2. Pilot

Choose a few rooms or one corridor to start.

  3. Floor by floor

Release rooms in groups and keep the rest in operation.

  4. Common areas

Schedule lobby and restaurant at quiet times.

  5. Facade and technical

Plan weather-dependent and technical areas separately.

FAQ

Questions hotel teams ask

Will it lower our energy bill?

Energy performance has to be checked per building. We do not guarantee savings or percentages.

Will neighbouring rooms be quieter?

No such promise is made. Room acoustics describes the sound inside a room. Airborne and impact sound insulation are different matters. Any acoustic benefit needs project-specific assessment.

Can it be used in the spa?

Only after each wet-zone surface has been assessed. It never replaces waterproofing.

Does it clean the air or cure mould?

No. VOC Label A classifies emissions. Mould prevention depends on moisture and ventilation, and existing mould requires remediation.

Is it fire rated?

A2-s1,d0 applies only within tested build-ups and the relevant product documents.
